Leader of the West
What does it mean to say that the U.S. is the leader of the West? Does it mean the same thing it used to mean during the Cold War era? Is the notion of the West as shared set of political values a dated concept? Earlier this year the Foreign Policy Research Institute sponsored a conference of scholars to consider this question, the proceedings reveal some interesting perspectives on the viability of "the West."
