White House Press Conference Transcript: Bush Says U.S. Will Call for Vote on New Iraq Resolution
President Bush said March 6 that the United States will call for a vote on a new U.N. Security Council resolution it has introduced along with Great Britain and Spain that states that Saddam Hussein has failed to fully disarm as called for by the council's earlier Resolution 1441.

State: Powell Says Iraq Has Failed to Make Strategic Decision to Disarm
Secretary of State Colin Powell says Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has made no "strategic, political decision" to disarm Iraq of its chemical and biological weapons, long-range ballistic missiles, and related components for building nuclear weapons.

State: U.S. Commends Detention of Mastermind Behind Sept. 11 Attacks
The White House issued a statement March 1 commending Pakistani and U.S. authorities on the completion of a successful joint operation that has resulted in the detention of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the mastermind behind the September 11, 2001 attacks, and several other Al Qaida operatives.
