Study on U.S. Aid to Africa Rebuts Conventional Wisdom
Conventional wisdom about U.S. foreign policy toward Africa is that Democrats are more inclined to care about the region and that the end of the Cold War has led to gradual U.S. disengagement from Africa. A new study analyzes OECD data on U.S. foreign assistance flows from 1961-2000 and finds that neither of these assumptions is true. Note, the above link is to a PDF file.
